- Ifuu is a wind demon you fight in sacred grounds (Howling Wind trophy) and later in a duo fight with Burai (The Perfect Storm trophy).
- Wind-based attacks require patient dodging rather than aggressive parrying.
- In the duo fight, prioritize Ifuu first — Burai is slower and easier to manage alone.

1. Boss Overview
Ifuu is a wind demon — agile, evasive, and built around controlling space with pressure waves. He favors mid-range combat where his wind slashes and projectile blasts can cover wide arcs. Unlike Burai, whose lightning is a deflection mechanic, Ifuu's wind attacks are best handled with positioning and patient defense.
He appears solo in his main story encounter inside sacred grounds, then later pairs with Burai in a duo fight. Both encounters test the same core skill: read his wind cadence, do not commit early, and punish the recovery.
2. Two Encounters
Encounter 1 — Sacred Grounds
Ifuu's solo encounter is set in a wide sacred-grounds arena. He cycles through wind slashes, projectile volleys, and aerial dashes. The Howling Wind trophy unlocks for clearing this encounter.
- Trophy unlocked: Howling Wind (Bronze)
- Arena: Wide open area — ideal for Focus Evade practice.
Encounter 2 — Duo with Burai
Later in the story, Ifuu returns alongside Burai. The duo fight forces you to manage two elemental threats at once: wind + lightning. The Perfect Storm trophy unlocks for clearing the duo.
- Trophy unlocked: The Perfect Storm (Bronze)
- Arena: Smaller than the solo fight — positioning is tighter.
3. Attack Patterns
| Attack | Tell | Best Answer |
|---|---|---|
| Wind Slash (cone) | Arms sweep horizontally, wind blade releases | Vertical jump or Focus Evade |
| Wind Blast (projectile) | Hands push forward, gust gathers | Side-step lateral, punish the recovery |
| Aerial Dash | Body lifts, gust trail follows | Roll on landing, punish with 2-hit combo |
| Tornado Pull | Arena-wide vacuum effect for ~4 seconds | Anchor with a heavy attack or break the pull with Oni Awakening i-frames |
| Cross-Cutter (HP < 50%) | Two wind blades in an X-pattern | Stand in the safe quadrant (between the X arms) and punish |
4. Strategy
- Wind attacks have long recovery. Every wind slash and blast leaves Ifuu staggered for ~20 frames — this is your punishment window.
- Don't button mash. The Tornado Pull and Cross-Cutter attacks both punish greedy engagement. Wait, read, then commit.
- Wind AoE punishes greed. Tornado Pull will drag you in if you overextend after a slash. Reset to mid-arena after each punish.
- In the duo fight, prioritize Ifuu first. Burai is slower and easier to manage alone. Ifuu's mobility makes him the higher-threat target.
- Use Focus Evade liberally — it is the safest tool against both wind slashes and Burai's lightning volleys in the duo variant.
5. Recommended Build
- Tier 2 Focus Evade — mandatory for the Tornado Pull and Cross-Cutter
- Issen Mastery Tier 1+ — for clean Issen punishes on the slash recovery
- Sun-Dried Hozuki consumable — emergency heal during the Tornado Pull
- Movement-speed charm if available — helps reposition out of AoE
6. Rewards
Defeating Ifuu grants:
- 1500 yellow souls
- Wind Charm — +10% movement speed, +5% Focus Evade cooldown reduction
- Trophy: Howling Wind (Bronze) — solo encounter
- Trophy: The Perfect Storm (Bronze) — duo encounter with Burai
