Oni Armaments are 7 special magical weapons in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Each armament generates purple souls on hit, rapidly building your Oni Awakening gauge. These weapons are found in unique chests across Kyoto and other maps. Collecting all 7 unlocks the Oni Armory trophy.
Equipping an Oni Armament causes your standard attacks to occasionally generate purple souls. Purple souls feed directly into the Oni Awakening meter, letting you enter the powerful Oni form more often. Each armament has a unique moveset and is suited to different combat scenarios.

1. The Two Celestials
How to obtain: Destroy the second Thread Genma locking the second oni gate at Kiyomizu-dera Temple and loot the treasure chest.

How to obtain: On the main path in Oni Refuge. Cannot be missed — required for story.

3. Wind-Whipper
How to obtain: Automatically obtained during "The Oni's Apprentice" mission after the Skills practice grounds and Boss Rematch features (the chest appears).

4. Earth-Shakers
How to obtain: In the Underground Laboratory at Underground Level 4, after the fan puzzle in the next room.

How to obtain: Found where the Rift was in the "Shadows Fall" mission — south of the Gojo Street – East Spirit Shrine.

How to obtain: Castle Courtyard of Mount Oe, in a cave you have to slide to get into.

3. Strategy & Tips
- Oni Bow is unmissable — story-required during the Oni Refuge section.
- Wind-Whipper is automatic — received during "The Oni's Apprentice" mission, no exploration required.
- Fan puzzle in Underground Level 4 must be solved to reach the Earth-Shakers chest.
- Slide mechanic is required to reach the Flashing Void in Mount Oe — make sure you've unlocked the slide ability by that point.
- Some chests respawn only in chapter select — if you miss one, replay the relevant mission.
- Combine with Hozuki Pouch upgrades for sustained Oni Awakening chains in late-game combat.
Equipping an Oni Armament turns your normal attacks into purple soul generators. This dramatically accelerates your Oni Awakening gauge. Stack with the Hozuki Pouch and skill tree nodes that boost purple soul gain for maximum uptime.
