Complete list of all 52 trophies (1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 9 Silver, 40 Bronze). Estimated 60-70 hours to earn all. Hardest trophies: Glutton for Punishment + True Onimusha (both require Carnage difficulty).
1. Trophy Statistics
Onimusha: Way of the Sword ships with a 52-trophy list. The platinum is awarded automatically once every other trophy has been unlocked. There are no online or co-op trophies and no known glitched trophies — every unlock can be earned reliably by playing the single-player campaign.

2. 5-Tier Roadmap
The 52 trophies fall into a clean five-phase progression. Plan your playthroughs around these phases and the platinum is unavoidable.
Phase 1 — Story
Complete the main campaign on a lower difficulty. Most story and combat trophies unlock naturally as you progress. Don't stress collectibles yet — focus on learning the combat system, mastering the Issen counter, and absorbing souls efficiently.
Phase 2 — Action
Replay on Action difficulty (recommended first hard-mode playthrough). Most skill, combat, and boss trophies will land here. Manual-save before each boss to prevent lockouts.
Phase 3 — Carnage NG+
New Game Plus on Carnage difficulty. Skills and equipment carry over, but enemy aggression, damage, and posture scales up. The Carnage clear unlocks True Onimusha.
Phase 4 — Collectibles
Clean up Mysteries of Kyoto, Chance Encounters, Lion Dogs, Oni Armaments, Genma notes, Charms, Hozuki Pouches, and equipment upgrades to trigger their silver/bronze trophies.
Phase 5 — Boss Rematch
Defeat every Boss Rematch opponent on every difficulty level (Story, Action, Carnage). This is the gate for Glutton for Punishment and the final unlock before the platinum.
Capcom's save system gives you 20 manual slots plus the autosave. Treat a manual save before the final boss as the platinum's safety net — if a glitched state ever appears, you can reload without losing hours of progress.
3. Boss Trophies (12)
Each major boss encounter has a dedicated bronze trophy. A few bosses appear twice — once during the main story and again in a rematch at a different location. The two "fight two bosses in sequence" trophies require you to clear both encounters in the same boss fight.
- Bronze Onimusha Showdown — Drive off Sasaki Ganryu.
- Bronze Get Stuffed — Defeat Daidara.
- Bronze Twisted Fates — Defeat Rasho-gan.
- Bronze Howling Wind — Defeat Ifuu.
- Bronze Dokyo's Fixation — Defeat the Greater Nue.
- Bronze Benkei: Out, but Not Down — Defeat Benkei.
- Bronze Crashing Lightning — Defeat Burai.
- Bronze Wide Awake — Defeat Shuten Doji.
- Bronze The Perfect Storm — Defeat Ifuu and Burai (back-to-back).
- Bronze We Done Here? — Defeat Sasaki Ganryu at Arashiyama.
- Bronze End This Madness — Defeat Dokyo.
- Bronze Baited by Benkei — Defeat Benkei at Rendaino.
- Bronze Truly, Thank You — Defeat Minamoto no Yoshitsune.
4. Story & Side-Content Trophies (5)
Story and side-content trophies are unlocked by completing specific missions or saving NPCs. None are missable as long as you keep a manual save before the final mission.
- Bronze Mystery Solved — Complete your first Mystery of Kyoto.
- Bronze Life-Saver — Complete your first Chance Encounter.
- Bronze Serves You Right — Defeat the Byakue at Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
- Bronze Citizen Savior — Rescue 30 townspeople from marauding Genma.
- Bronze Selfish Selflessness — Rescue a merchant that's being attacked by Genma.
5. Collectible Trophies (4)
Collectible trophies are gated to a specific category of pickups. They require exploring every chapter thoroughly and rescuing every available NPC.
- Bronze No Dog Left Behind — Rescue your first Lion Dog.
- Bronze Genma-ologist — Collect all the Genma notes.
- Bronze Second Helping — Beat an opponent in a Boss Rematch.
- Bronze Looking Sharp — Enhance a piece of equipment for the first time.
6. Upgrade Trophies (3 Silver)
Three silver trophies unlock when every item in a given upgrade category has been fully enhanced to maximum level. Plan your Red Souls and Favor around the largest single-currency purchases.
- Silver Medical Marvel — Enhance all Hozuki Pouches to the maximum level.
- Silver Charmed Life — Enhance all charms to the maximum level.
- Silver Dressed to to Kill — Enhance all equipment to the maximum level.
7. Combat Trophies (15)
The combat trophy list is the heart of the platinum. Most require you to repeat a specific action a fixed number of times — Issen counters, parries, headshots, deflects, and environmental kills. None are missable: every combat trophy can be earned in post-game by farming weak enemies.
- Bronze Burning Blade — Defeat 50 foes while in the Blazing State.
- Bronze Stop Motion — Perform 50 Reflex Combos.
- Bronze Wielder of Oni Armaments — Defeat 100 enemies with Oni Armaments.
- Bronze Oni's Oni — Defeat 50 enemies in the Oni Awakened state.
- Bronze Brutalist — Land 50 Issen attacks.
- Bronze Flow State — Defeat 50 enemies with Chain Issen attacks.
- Bronze Silent Violence — Assassinate 20 enemies.
- Bronze Pinch Hitter — Deflect 50 projectiles.
- Bronze Deadeye — Score 100 headshots with your bow.
- Bronze Winning Is What Matters — Carry out 50 attacks with environmental objects.
- Bronze Untouchable — Perform 50 Grab Reversals.
- Bronze Coming Through! — Break an enemy's guard 50 times.
- Bronze Helm Splitter — Break 100 shields or pieces of enemy armor.
- Bronze Get This Thing Off Me — Absorb 30 or more souls at once.
- Bronze Berserker — Defeat 3 enemies with continuous Break Issen attacks.
- Bronze Genma Griller — Set three enemies ablaze at once.
8. Skill & Collection Silver Trophies (4)
- Silver Demystified — Complete all Mysteries of Kyoto.
- Silver No Job Too Small — Complete all Chance Encounters.
- Silver For the Love of Dog — Rescue all the Lion Dogs.
- Silver Oni Armory — Acquire all Oni Armaments.
- Silver Well-Rounded — Learn and upgrade all basic and special skills.
- Silver The Winding Way of the Sword — Learn and upgrade all basic or special skills.
9. Gold Trophies (2)
The two gold trophies are the platinum's real gate. Both require a fully maxed-out build and a clean run on the hardest difficulty.
- Gold True Onimusha — Complete the game on difficulty level "Carnage".
- Gold Glutton for Punishment — Beat all Boss Rematch opponents on all difficulty levels.
Boss Rematch trophies unlock per difficulty. You must clear every boss on Story, then again on Action, then again on Carnage. Use the Carnage clears as warm-up for the True Onimusha gold.
10. Platinum Trophy (1)
- Platinum Peerless — Earn all trophies.
Platinum Peerless unlocks the moment every other trophy pops. With no online, missable, or glitched trophies in the set, a clean two-playthrough run is enough.

12. Platinum Roadmap Summary
Use this condensed roadmap alongside the full checklist above. For step-by-step instructions, see the Platinum Trophy Roadmap.
- Story playthrough (Story difficulty) — learn combat, unlock story and combat trophies naturally. ~20 hours.
- Action playthrough (Action difficulty) — clean up collectibles, max skills, complete all side content. ~25 hours.
- Carnage NG+ — beat the game on Carnage for True Onimusha. ~12 hours with a strong build.
- Boss Rematch sweep — clear every boss on every difficulty for Glutton for Punishment. ~5 hours.
- Final cleanup — mop up any leftover combat-counting trophies by farming weak enemies. ~3 hours.
Most combat trophies count across playthroughs. Burning Blade, Stop Motion, Brutalist, Flow State, Silent Violence, Pinch Hitter, and Helm Splitter all bank progress through NG+, so a single Carnage run often closes several at once.
