1. Best General Farming Locations

Five locations cover the majority of combat trophy farming. Each one is selected for enemy density, respawn behavior, and safe kill windows.

Eastern Kyoto Alleys
Respawning Genma Brutes (6-8 per area). Most reliable mass-kill farm for Oni Armament and crowd-clear trophies.
Best for Wielder
Kiyomizu-zaka Slope
Mixed Brute + Archer groups. Best location for simultaneous Break Issen chains and Berserker trophy.
Best for Berserker
Underground Laboratory Level 3
Dense Genma Archer population. Best projectile-deflect farm for the Pinch Hitter trophy (50 deflects).
Best for Deflect
Mount Oe Castle Courtyard
Open sight lines + multiple archer chokepoints. Best location for the Deadeye trophy (100 bow headshots).
Best for Headshots
Boss Rematch Arena
Independent respawn after each fight. Best for stacking combat counter trophies (Issen, Chain Issen, Burning Blade).
Best for Counters
Forest Areas (Plant Genma)
Plant-type Genma are vulnerable to fire armaments. Best location for the Genma Griller trophy (3 on fire simultaneously).
Best for Fire Trophies

2. Individual Trophy Farming Routes

Brutalist (50 Issen)50 Issens~15-30 min

Location: Boss Rematch (Daidara or Nue) — respawns instantly between fights.

Method: Parry → Issen each attack. Bosses with predictable attack patterns are best.

Pro tip

Bosses with predictable attack patterns (Daidara, Nue) yield Issen every 4-6 seconds. Avoid Dokyo or Benkei — their attack cadence is irregular and slows down your farm rate.

Flow State (50 Chain Issens)50 Chain Issens~30-60 min

Location: Eastern Kyoto alleys (groups of 4-6 Genma).

Method: Chain Issen to wipe crowds in a single breath. Hit one enemy, immediately Issen the next before the chain meter resets.

Requires: Chain Issen Reach 2 (max) skill unlocked.

Burning Blade (50 Blazing State Kills)50 Blazing Kills~20 min

Location: Boss Rematch — Daidara (long HP bar means more hits).

Method: Parry until your Blue meter is full, then unleash combo attacks. Each kill during Blazing State increments the trophy.

Pinch Hitter (50 Deflect Projectiles)50 Deflects~15 min

Location: Mount Oe + Underground Laboratory (Genma Archer zones).

Method: Stand near a pack of Genma Archers, deflect arrows as they fire. Each deflect increments the counter.

Deadeye (100 Bow Headshots)100 Headshots~20-30 min

Location: Mount Oe Castle Courtyard (open sight lines).

Method: Equip the Oni Bow, aim for heads. Headshot kills register instantly — you don't need to kill every arrow target.

Wielder of Oni Armaments (100 Kills)100 Oni Kills~30 min

Location: Eastern Kyoto Brute groups.

Method: Use Oni Armament attacks (One Bow, Earth-Shakers, etc.) on every group. 100 kills is approximately 12-15 group clears.

Oni's Oni (50 Oni Awakening Kills)50 Awakening Kills~20-30 min

Location: Boss Rematch OR large Genma groups in Eastern Kyoto.

Method: Build Oni gauge, transform, kill enemies during the Awakening window. Each kill increments the counter — prioritize big enemy groups to maximize kills per transformation.

Berserker (3 Enemies with Continuous Break Issen)3 Chain Break Issens~15 min

Location: Eastern Kyoto crowds.

Method: Stagger 3 enemies, then chain Break Issens back-to-back without recovery. The chain meter must stay active across all 3 Issens.

Helm Splitter (100 Shield/Armor Breaks)100 Breaks~30-45 min

Location: Any area with armored Genma (Eastern Kyoto mid-game zones).

Method: Use Deflect to break shields. Each deflect that pops a shield or breaks armor counts. Brute enemies with shields are the most reliable target.

Genma Griller (3 Enemies on Fire Simultaneously)3 on Fire~15 min

Location: Forest areas with plant-type Genma.

Method: Use Fire armaments to ignite 3 plant-type Genma at once. They must be burning simultaneously, not sequentially.

3. Most Efficient Farming Order

The order below minimizes backtracking and stacks trophies that share farming locations. Total time for all combat trophies in this list: ~3 hours of focused farming.

  1. Deflect / Headshot trophies first — Pinch Hitter + Deadeye both take ~15-20 minutes in their dedicated locations. Stack with a single Mount Oe + Underground Laboratory sweep.
  2. Boss Rematch sweep — Brutalist + Burning Blade + Flow State. Spend ~30 minutes per trophy on the same Daidara or Nue rematch session.
  3. Oni-mode trophies — Oni's Oni + Wielder of Oni Armaments. Stack on Eastern Kyoto Brute groups after Awakening is unlocked.
  4. Berserker + Genma Griller last — these need specific setup (3 simultaneous break issens / 3 simultaneous fires). End on these once your muscle memory is sharpest.
  5. Platinum + Glutton for Punishment — naturally close as you complete the Carnage sweep.

4. Boss Rematch Setup (Post-Carnage)

Boss Rematch is unlocked after you clear the final boss for the first time. It's the cleanest farm location in the game because every fight is independent and resets instantly.

Stack During the Glutton for Punishment Sweep

The Glutton for Punishment platinum trophy requires defeating every boss on every difficulty. Stack combat-counter trophies during that sweep instead of farming them separately. The full Carnage sweep usually closes the last few combat trophies without dedicated farming.
